About the People Strategy ( Special Projects ) Team at Ola:

1. The People Strategy function was created with the mandate of reimagining the people function at Ola, so as to create a unique and world class people function (HR) in the organization

2. It is envisaged to be an internal think tank that engages with the business and other HR leaders to create unique productized HR solutions that are systemic in creating an unique work culture at Ola organization

3. Given the "greenfield" scope of the projects, the Special Projects Team challenges its team members to take ownership and deliver on critical people projects against stringent deadlines. The team members are expected to decipher people issues basis first principles approach ( a tried,tested and trusted methodology to solve complex problems at Ola). On the up side, association with the special projects team gives team members requisite exposure to the senior most management at Ola along with opportunities to work directly with the CEO / founder(s).


About the role - Senior Specialist, People Strategy ( Special Projects) at Ola

A. Reporting to the Head for People Strategy, the successful candidate will be part of the Strategic People Projects team and work as the strategic advisor to CEO, CTO, COO, CAO and the rest of the top management on critical people matters

B. The candidate is expected to take  end to end ownership of critical projects and deliver on them in line with committed timelines. In delivering these projects, the candidate will be assisted by a group of Specialist Analysts, who will be assigned on a project to project basis. The ultimate accountability of the project lies with the candidate i.e. Senior Specialist

C. Key responsibilities:

i. Thought Leadership - The candidate is expected to bring key insights / perspectives in line with overall people vision of the organization. The candidate should be able to research internal and external information sources extensively in order to derive insights that will help solve critical people problems

ii. Client/ Stakeholder Management - The candidate needs to balance multiple levels of relationship with various business and HR stakeholders and is able to navigate them effectively in getting the requisite output for the People Strategy Team 

iii. Program Management - The candidate needs to have an overall view of the project timelines. He/She should be able to scope out the project assignment well and are able to manage the project end to end 

D. Candidate Requirements - An ideal candidate should - 

-  Be able to prioritize and work effectively on the most important matters to deliver on several competing tasks that all demand immediate attention 

-  Have good commercial sense and business acumen -  able to analyze and consider issues from the standpoint of employees as well as that of an organization/change consultant

-  Think about what the person he/she is advising needs to know in the particular situation, and speak and write clearly and concisely in providing advice

-  Have good understanding/appreciation of the particular needs of a fast growing organizations creating a new market / industry

E. Expected candidate qualifications / experience:

-  MBA ( not necessarily in HR)  from a top-tier university in India or abroad

-  5+ years of experience with top-tier management/strategy/organization consulting firms, or with leading product companies in organization effectiveness or talent management roles

-  Exposure to the technology/e-commerce/m-commerce industry

-  Startup or entrepreneurial experience is desirable
