Vice President, Human Resources, (Head HR)
This position heads the Human Resource function and reports to the MD of the Company.
Educational Background:
• MBA/ Master’s degree with a specialization in HR, from a reputed Indian institute
• Bachelor’s degree (Honours) from a reputed college/ university
• Strong academic background (grades, institutions)
Work Experience
• Tenure: 15-20 years of total work experience in reputed Indian and/or MNC organizations, known for good HR systems and practices
• Content Areas: should have worked in strategic HR areas, including M&A, Performance and Talent Management, Leadership Development, Restructuring, Change Management and Rewards
• Industries: experience of working in manufacturing and engineering companies; good FMCG and Consumer Durables companies are preferred
• Roles: should have spent at least 5 years in a corporate HR role at a senior management level
Role Summary:
• This role will articulate and drive the HR strategy and programs.
• As leader of the HR function, this role will be responsible for leading an efficient team in the design and implementation of effective HR systems, policies and practices across the company.
• The role incumbent will report to the MD and serve as an integral part of his top leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be a strategic adviser to the MD, business and function heads on all aspects of people management; work closely with the MD to support the top leadership team play their dual roles as individual leaders, and as a collective group
• Define the HR strategy in line with its product and plant expansion objectives; create long and short term HR Roadmaps to achieve the strategy
• Create the HR organization structure and staff it with the requisite roles and capabilities to deliver on the HR strategy and programs; guide and coach the team to deliver high-quality solutions and services
• Integrate all HR systems, policies and practices across plants and sales locations to drive a consistent high-quality employee experience across the company
• Lead the HR team to design and implement high-quality systems and processes in the areas of – Recruitment and On boarding, Performance Management, Talent Management, Learning and Development, Rewards and Culture
• Design and implement programs for the identification and development of high potential talent - to build a pipeline of future leaders for the company
• Provide overall guidance and support for IR/ Plant HR matters

• Collaboration: supports all business groups and functions in achieving overall HIL objectives; brings cohesiveness to committees and management teams of which he/ she is a member; plays a constructive leadership role in the top management team, challenging and supporting management decisions, as appropriate
• Stakeholder Management: fosters and maintains a network of work relationships at senior levels in the organization; is able to leverage these relationships to influence critical management decisions; commands leadership ‘presence’ and respect amongst his/ her peer group
• Coaching and Mentoring: supports his/ her own team to set and achieve ‘stretched’ goals; shares developmental feedback and supports the performance improvement efforts of the team; identifies and grooms leaders in the team to achieve higher levels of excellence and growth
